Screw Omaha

We all know that Omaha sucks, but do we ever stop and think why Omaha sucks? Let's go down the list:
1. It's dirty. Walk around downtown Omaha, it looks like Iowa took a garbage crap and tossed it over the Missouri River.
2. They think they're huge sports fans. You guys do an okay job with the College World Series (Have fun parking) but everything else is terrible. A city of 500,000 people can only avg. 4,000 for a AAA baseball team? You build the Qwest Center too small to host anything awesome? You have three hockey teams and don't support any of them? Nice fans.
3. Their shameful two-faced cheering. Alright, cheer for Creighton basketball, that's fine and I can understand it, you're being from Omaha and all. You can even cheer against Nebraska in basketball, that's totally fine and within your rights. But DO NOT cheer against Nebraska in one sport and then come down to Lincoln for a football game and cheer for Nebraska's football team. It's a package deal, if you denigrate one sport at UNL, you denigrate them all, you can't pick and choose. Why don't you start your own football team up there at Creighton? Could it be because the Huskers beat you 128-0 in 1905? Creighton, just stick to your version of football. UNO fans, I have no qualms with you.
4. Enter Omaha at your own risk. 35 murders a year or so. We live in Nebraska and they average more murders than the national average. It's Nebraska!

Get over yourself Omaha. Lincoln got the Capitol, the University, and something I like to call "class." All you got was to live next to Iowa.

"Never been able to lay a hand on Creighton?!?!"

Funny, but I remember being at the regional baseball games and believe me, Creighton wishes all the Huskers would have done was "lay a hand" on them. Nice showing, mix in some pitching next time.

Also, prior to the last 5 years the Huskers dominated CU in basketball. Creighton fans seem to "forget" that from time to time. Creighton fans also seem to forget every game CU has won has been extremely close; the two teams have been very comparable. The main difference is that while the Huskers have to battle the likes of Texas, OU, KU, Texas Tech, Missouri, and OSU, Creighton gets to play Evansville, Bradley, and Indiana St. If CU played in the Big 12, they would not have even made the tournament in the last 10 years.

Finally, nice law school there Creighton. Have you moved into the Third tier yet?

Omaha sucks. Creighton sucks. The only good thing is the CWS and the Zoo.

I think JT just listed that we got the University and Capital which in my book makes Lincoln the place to be.

I'm sure Creighton's volleyball team would be able to get a point or two off of UNL's.

"You can keep your University. Now start paying for it without Omaha's tax dollars." Sounds like jealousy to me.

What clout does Omaha have? Seriously? Well, the Counting Crows did write a song about you. Nevermind.

And another thing. How about Omaha gets a few more steep hills. They only cancel about 50 days of school a year.

Omaha is "Big Brother?" Last time I checked "Big Brother" was pretty evil! (1984, have someone read it to you). You're right about Creighton, I'm just glad you didn't rub all those national titles the Bluejays have in my face. Also, maybe it would be a good idea to not put your school in the absolute worst part of town. Have fun with those mountain lions!

It's going to be tough for Creigton to win when Nate "fugly" Funk is throwing up all over the court.

I dare you to walk from Creighton to the Old Market. Gee, I seem to remember something about Creighton having to actually cut down hedges because too many people were hiding behind them, ready to rob people. I also wonder why Omaha now goes out to about 180th Street, could it be that the rest of that city is not livable? Please notice that I did not criticize those fans that cheer for Nebraska in every sport, only those that choose to divide their loyalties. One more thing, as for Creighton being a better school than UNL, I grant you that to a point. But $22,000/year to $4,000 a year better, I think not. I know a lot of jackasses who went to Creighton, paying a lot of cash does not make a good education. Anyway, I will be going out tomorrow, having a great time, watching a football game, win or lose. You can go listen to your orchestra or look at bears, or go give money to Iowa on those riverboats.

Enjoy that dense fog of cigarette smoke in your bars, I'll be breathing easy!

Good lord, your argument is hurting my head. Lincoln and Omaha are both good for their own reasons. For the two things I like to do most, sports and live music, Lincoln is better for the former and Omaha is better for the latter. Lincoln's smoking ban is awesome, and so is The Dubliner in Omaha. The Old Market vs the Haymarket, now that the Haymarket has a baseball stadium, is a toss-up. Omaha's system of Interstates and 4-lane highways is awesome, but there's also just a bit too much construction going on most of the time. I like the small-town feel you get in Lincoln, but sometimes there's just more to do in Omaha. When I come back for the holidays I'm sure I'll spend time in both cities, with some snowboarding in Colorado mixed in. Sorry for the interruption. Continue fighting...

Yeah, who in the world would wear a wig on Halloween, that's just crazy. Anyway, maybe Creighton and Nebraska will play in a bowl game.

You're right, walking in downtown Omaha is totally safe: http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_pg=1636&u_sid=2065134
